the festive season is almost here, and i’m ecstatic to show you some cute hairstyles that you can wear to your next special event. these hairstyles are classy, elegant, and romantic, which makes them great for holiday parties and dinner dates. to begin, you’re going to need some beautiful bouncy curls. i’m using the nume octowand set, and this curling wand set really blows me away. it comes with 8 different interchangeable barrels so you can do a variety of curls and waves on short, medium, and long hair. for this tutorial, i’m using a reverse wand at 370 degree. it has negative ion technology to combat frizz and infrared heat to provide steady heat to your hair. while we wait for this to heat up, you can apply some heat protectant products. i’m using about 10 pumps of nume’s truffle serum for the middle to bottom of my hair, and for the rest of it, i’m using this tresseme heat tamer spray.
once the products are set in your hair, weare ready to go. i’ve already curled half of my hair to save time. you can see how incredibly bouncy these curls are, especially at the bottom because the curling wand is slightly tapered at the end. the key to getting a defined curl is to grab only a small section of hair at a time – i would say no more than half an inch. wrap it around your curling wand for 10 seconds, making sure that your hair doesn’t overlap itself. continue doing this for the rest of your hair, going in different directions so you hair doesn’t clump up. when you are done, you can separate the curls with your fingers and arrange them to your liking. i love these defined curls because they last up to 4 days or even more for me. if you just want a classic curly hairstyle for your special event, then you can rock this look.
if you want to add some style, then let’smove on to this sweet half up half down. start by gathering half of your hair to the back. twist it around your fingers enough times to form a little bun, leaving the rest of your hair down. go ahead and tie the bun with a thin elastic and gently tug on it to loosen it up. from here, secure your hair with a few bobby pins and you’re pretty much done! this hairstyle was quick and simple to do, and it only took me 3 minutes. you can wear this princess hairstyle to school dances or for romantic date nights. the second hairstyle is another easy one. it’s a braided low ponytail that looks more mature.
begin by grabbing a section of hair at the top of your head and divide it into three. you’re going to do a loose french braid by adding hair to the side sections before you put them over the middle. continue the braid until you get to the nape of your neck and secure your hair into a low ponytail. to hide the thin elastic, just grab a small section of hair from the front and twist it back, going around your ponytail. when it’s underneath your ponytail, you can put it between a bobby pin and push the pin into your hair. like the last hairstyle, this simple look only took me only 3 minutes, so it’s another effortless hairstyle to try when you’re in a rush. the last hairstyle is an updo that’s great for formal occasions. you’re going to divide out some hair at the front, following down your ears and tie the rest of your hair into a ponytail. split this ponytail in half at the base to make a hole, and flip your hair inside that hole to create a twist.
now, grab all of your hair and roll it into the twist and it should create an updo. use a few bobby pins to secure this in place. after that’s done, twist the front sections back and pin it over your updo. if your hair is long, you can hold on the end of it scrunch the rest up to make it shorter. at any point, if your hair roll falls through the hole of the twist like mine did, then just pin down that down below the twist. adjust your updo to your liking and you’re done! it looks like there was a lot work put intothis hairstyle, but it was really simple to do. so that concludes some of the formal hairstyles you can try out for your next event. special thanks to nume for partnering with me on this video.
