i’m so glad it’s finally the holiday season, and during this time of year, i love dress up my hair. today, i’m gonna show you a tutorial on this beautiful rose half up half down hairstyle. this is a romantic hairstyle that’s perfect for a wedding, dinner date, school dance, or holiday party. to get started, you’re going to curl your hair, and i’m going to use my nume lustrum curling wand set. it comes with 5 wands, so you can use the biggest barrel for soft waves and the other ones for tighter curls. the wand that caught my attention was this pearl wand. since it’s smaller and irregular, it’ll provide you with some fun wild curls. to use this, you’d attach it to the handle, plug it in, and turn it on. take note that there is only one heat setting of 410 degree fahrenheit, and it'll come to temperature in just a few seconds.
while i wait for that to heat up, i’m applying some nume argan oil as a heat protectant. i’ve also been using this as a leave-inconditioner, and it makes my hair so soft and smooth. plus, it smells amazing. after the argon oil has been absorbed, i’m putting on the heat protectant gloves and let’s get started. you’re going to first divide your hair in half. with the bottom layer, grab about a 1 inch section and wrap it around the curling wand. wait for about 5 seconds and then unwind your hair to get this small curl. continue with another section, making sure that this time, you curl your hair in the opposite direction so they won’t clump up and you’ll get more volume. once you’re done with your bottom section, release your hair to curl the top. a tip to using a small sized curling wand like the one i’m using is to wrap your hair flat against it.
this will ensure that you’re covering the most surface space and allowing your hair to absorb the heat evenly. once you’re done, you should have some tight curls, and you can run your fingers through them to soften them up. another method to try is to flip your hair upside down, grab it like a ponytail, and shake it like crazy. this will give you that effortless cute messy look and instant volume. i love these glamorous curls, especially since they’re long lasting so i can wear them as 2nd or 3rd day curls. now, you can leave your hair as is, or you can move onto the next step if you want to try the simple rose haldo. to begin, you’re going to grab two smallsections on the side and tie them together in the back. then, divide your ponytail in half to create a hole, and flip your ponytail inside the hole to create a twist. braid this section until you’re a few inches away from the end, and secure your hair with a thin elastic.
