(upbeat music) - welcome back to cutegirls hairstyles, i'm kamri. - and i'm mindy and todaywe're gonna show you how to do a lace fishtail bun. now if you guys areenjoying our hair tutorials, especially our segment ofbuns, be sure to give us a thumbs up and click hereto subscribe to our channel. now to begin this hairstyleyou're going to need a donut maker that matchesthe color of your hair.
and you can see on camry, tip your head down, i'vejust parted down the center and done a french fishtailright at the top, just to add a little bit more somethingsomething to the hairstyle. now, you're gonna take yourdonut maker and you're gonna section off a piece ofhair, probably like, i mean a pretty good size piece, not quite, maybe likeone sixth of the hair. i mean we want a decentsize amount left out.
and you're gonna take the donut maker and slip the rest of itright through the center and just let it fallnaturally so it kind of covers the donut maker, like evenly spaced out all around it. once you get the hair all evenly spaced, you have your bottom piece right here and you're going to pickup a section of hair here. this is again, like adecent amount of hair,
not a huge piece, and these become your two first pieces of fish tail, like your main strand that you start with. so we're going to just do onestitch of a regular fish tail, so take a little pieceoff that outside edge and cross it over, and addit to the bottom section, and then grab a littlepiece off this outside edge and cross it over and addit to that top section. and that's your basic fish tail stitch.
now on the second stitch that you do, you're going to add in hair. so we're gonna pick up asmall section right here and then we're going to pickup an outside little edge and cross them both together over the top and into the bottom section. of course the bottom sectionhas no hair to add in, so it's not going to get any added. we're just gonna takeanother outside piece,
cross it over to the next section. so again this is your basic stitch, the entire way around the bun. take a small section of hair, pick up an outside edge off that section, cross it over the top and addit into the bottom section, take an outside edge from the bottom, and cross it back over andadd it into the top section. and you're gonna go over, around and around, over and over
until you cover the whole bun. when you get here, right to the end and you're out of hair to pick up, then you're just going to continue, just doing a regular fish tail. for a little bit longer and this allows us just a little bit offish tail to work with on tucking it under thebraid, making it look pretty. okay, now at this point you can see
that it's gotten all twisted around, like i started over there andit went around the whole bun, you can just move it like this. so if you don't want the end right there, if you want it down on the bottom, it's pretty fluid and you can just move it to where you want it. i'm just going to takethis and sort of tuck it up and start tucking it underthis other fish tail.
pulling that fish tail over the top. and it will require bobbypinning in some points just to hold that fish tail in place. so tuck, tuck, tuck. up and under. and the other thing that i want to do is that i wanna make minepop just a little bit more, so i'm actually gonna just very gently go and just tug on that outside edge.
just to loosen the hair just a little bit and really add to the fullness and the effect of the fish tail. and then when i've donethat i'm just gonna go ahead and secure a few spots to make sure it staysdown where we want it. and there you have it. be sure to check out our latest two videos that you can find hereand show us some love
